Join Us
A member of Braver Angels is part of a national community – we are Republicans, Democrats, and Independents of all political persuasions. Joining Braver Angels is the logical next step for citizens who are sick of the rancor and want to do something about it.
Help Us
Organizers form, lead, and work with teams to plan and produce Braver Angels workshops and other events.
Moderators deliver content (in skills-based workshops), facilitate structured conversations (in experiential workshops) and lead a variety of well-tested exercises. By establishing and enforcing workshop ground rules and following workshop designs, Moderators create an environment in which participants can explore challenging political topics and learn more about themselves and others.
With many Braver Angels events occurring online, there’s an immense need for Zoom Event Managers who work behind the scenes to help these events go smoothly. There are roles available for people with a wide variety of skill and experience levels, and our tech experts will work closely with you to ensure you can be highly effective in handling our events.
Represent Us
Braver Angels Ambassadors are prepared for advocacy and outreach work, spreading our message on depolarization and bridge-building within their personal circles and on the public stage.
Challenge Us
Debate Organizers are primarily responsible for guiding the organization and development of a Local Community Debate. This training is designed to teach Organizers important skills and processes which will aid them in planning and executing a successful Braver Angels Debate in their community!
Debate Chairs ensure our debates – both online and in person – run smoothly and in accordance with The Braver Angels Way: saying only what we truly believe about hard topics, treating those with whom we disagree with honesty, dignity and respect, and sharing and learning regardless of what side we are on. If you are considering being part of the dynamic Debate Team, and want to help facilitate a space where people can have better conversations, you might be interested in training as a Debate Chair.
If you are considering being part of the dynamic Debate Team, and like to help people feel welcome, engaged and comfortable in speaking out during debates, a Whip position may be right for you. Whips identify and interact with potential speakers and answer questions from participants. Their direct communications with attendees have a profound effect on how participants view the debate experience, their willingness to take risks in speaking or asking questions, and their ability to feel engaged in the debate even if they don’t speak.
